About

Spindles & Stitches was born of a love of fibre crafts that skipped a generation. Aleks Dok, the creator behind this pint-sized emporium, was first introduced to yarn by her grandmother (but the threads were orange and scratchy, so it didn’t really work out). Online tutorials picked up where grandma left off, and the rest as they say is history!

Spindles & Stitches focuses on fibre and materials for the modern spinner, felter and weaver. Here you’ll find rolags - colourful, silky, and buttery soft; wool roving - hand dyed in small batches, fluffy and vibrant; and wooden spindles - handmade with love for a quality spin.

Though she knits and crochets, spinning has always been Aleks’s first love - she enjoys sitting at her wheel and feeling the fibres twist between her fingers. She shares her passion by dyeing and combing wool so that others can also experience the joy of creating something extraordinary with their own hands.

When she’s not playing with wool, Aleks loves tending to her houseplant jungle, baking sourdough bread, and watching true crime documentaries (although there's not much time for that with the new baby!)
